The Masonic and Military Order of the Red Cross of Constantine and the Orders of the Holy Sepulchre and St. John the Evangelist

Wednesday the 9th of September marked another Enthronement ceremony at Holy Trinity Conclave No.311 in Torquay, and although the number Knights mustered was small it was an enjoyable evening.

The intimate gathering lent a warm, collegial air to the proceedings, where familiarity and tradition blended seamlessly.

The proclamation for Ill.Kt. John Bate P.G.V.Chamberlain was conducted by V.Ill.Kt. Dr. Warner Barton P.G.Alm in a sincere manner, his voice steady and resonant as he guided the ritual with practiced grace.

The ceremony, steeped in the customs of the order, unfolded with dignity despite the modest attendance, each gesture and word imbued with meaning. The dispensation was read out by their newest member W.Kt David Holland who was standing in as Herald.

The evening’s highlight was the presentation of a Grand Conclave certificate to W.Kt David Holland, delivered in two distinct parts.

First, Ill.Kt. John Redman, Deputy Intendant General, stepped forward to present the certificate, his bearing formal yet friendly.

Then, P.Kt. Robin Clowes Divisional Senior General took the floor to explain the symbols and inscriptions shown on the certificate, illuminating their significance for all present.

His commentary drew appreciative nods, as the assembled knights reflected on the heritage and values embodied in the honour.

At the end of the meeting, the W.Kts retired to enjoy a pastie and a pint, as is customary after such gatherings.

Laughter and conversation filled the room, the formalities of the evening giving way to easy camaraderie. The company was rich in spirit, and the night closed on a note of contentment and fellowship.

Strength and honour!
